Windsor auditor claims harassment in the workplace

The lead auditor in the city of Windsor, Ontario, throwing most of the members of City Council and several top administrators create a toxic workplace, which has left forced her job.

The Council received from Angela Berry, discussed a letter CBC news on Monday in private. Berry contends that a formal investigation of the allegations of workplace harassment and violence.

In her letter, Berry said is they work for about a month because of a work-related injuries. She claims that it suffered on long-term risk caused by abuse by a negative work environment. You mentioned "Violence, harassment and mobbing."

Berry said the abuse began seven years ago. Their list of the alleged perpetrators include the City Chief Administrative Officer, the corporate leadership team, the Audit Committee, and all City Council - with the exception of City Councillor Alan Halberstadt. She said that Halberstadt was a "consistent, clear voice support."

Berry claimed she reported many concerns in the last three years, but little done been to remedy.

The Mayor and several councillors described the allegations as a "Surprise" and "without basis." Mayor Eddie Francis said there was no history of Berry's complaints.

"If these were conditions, you expect to take auditor you someone to draw the attention of and I was told, this is not the case, said Francis.""During the whole process by all departments and agencies, each came back and said that this is the first time that they have heard about it."

Berry has hired lawyer Peter Hrastovec, who said an internal investigation be carried out. City Council has an outside lawyer to handle the investigation employed.
