'Tweet in' on elections Canada blackout to flout law

Twitter users are swear to reduce Canada's ban on tweeting results against elections, before the polls close on May 2.

The country's electoral Agency was a warning for social-media users this week, she pointed out that section 329 elections made applies Gesetzesvon to transmissions over the Internet.

Penalties for violations of the law could include a fine of up to $25,000 or up to five years in prison.

Despite the Agency many say claim that it would be social media monitoring, that she will ignore, what they say one is obsolete.

"I wonder, how many people we get ' Tweet-' protest could participate in against the Twitter election night ban," tweeted Ottawa's Peter Raaijmakers.

"I'm in" tweeted Montreal's Jason Mayoff.

"We should all Tweet" on 2 may, tweeted Denis Gagnon of Timmins, Ontario "either we the system and [Canada options] calls flooding overwhelmed, or we get all fine and end up paying for # elxn41."

Others proposed tweeting election results with the code name for the parties or intentionally tweeting inaccurate results. On Thursday afternoon was the Hashtag "# tweettheresults" used.

But some were unimpressed with the talk of a "tweet in."

"The 'Tweet in' protest against election Canada's Twitter ban is stupid," tweeted Devon Peacock of London, Ontario "votes and leave it with that."

In his memory on the transfer said ban elections Canada tweeting or booking violate law wall of elections results on a blog or Facebook.

Facebook with the messaging service or emailing results not.

Canada has indicated elections, it will not be actively monitors social media for infringements of the law of elections but is obliged to investigate any complaints to the attention brought.

The popularity of services like Twitter means it's time for the law to change, some say.

"Elections which can Canada not even hope, to s329 elections Gesetzesvon force... in the age of Twitter," national citizens Coalition Director and bloggers Stephen Taylor tweeted Wednesday.

"Elections Act must to remove s329 or surveys on land close at the same moment be changed."

Change the art, surveys are organized, was a joint proposal.

"I why it no longer consistently make to the surveys in the provinces, are" tweeted Toronto Ryan Coleman. "Open later include former West East."

In 2006, the ban led forth some U.S. political bloggers, election results, to publish the law.
